Q: Is there always someone I can speak to about our Wedding Day?
A: We understand that the romantic day you are dreaming of requires a lot of preparation and attention to detail. That's why we have a dedicated wedding co-ordinator to help you plan your big day, who can offer pre-event advice on everything from the order of your event to local suppliers such as toastmasters and florists, and on the day itself you will have a dedicated event manager to oversee proceedings from beginning to end.
Q: Can you recommend any Wedding Services to help us with our plans?
A: We work closely with many local suppliers and businesses that provide an excellent service. We also hold wedding fairs at the hotel which will be advertised on the hotel's special offers page on the website. Show rounds of the hotel are also available by appointment.
Q: Can I get married at Five Lakes?
A: Five Lakes is licensed by Essex County Council as approved premises for Civil Marriage Ceremonies for up to 300 guests. To arrange a wedding ceremony, please provisionally reserve the required date, which will be held for 10 working days, and contact Essex County Council's Superintendent Registrar (telephone 01245 430700) to arrange for the solemnisation ceremony.
Q: Is there somewhere for us to have reception drinks?
A: Reception drinks can be held in our residents bar Squires, various function rooms and weather permitting, drinks may be served outside. The hotel has extensive grounds for your photographs and we can certainly recommend local photographers that provide a good service.
Q: Are the drinks packages flexible?
A: We have put the drinks packages together as a suggestion, we can always tailor make a package for you or alternatively look at upgrading the wines included in the package. You can also change the sparkling wine to champagne for the toast.
Q: Do you have an in house florist?
A: The hotel can organise a meeting with your wedding coordinator and a recommended florist to discuss your colour schemes and flower arrangements. Bouquets, button holes and table centrepieces can then be delivered on the morning of your wedding.
Q: Is table linen included with the package?
A: Five Lakes provide white table linen as a standard but for a fabulous finishing touch why not hire in chair covers to pull your colour theme throughout the room. We have a couple of recommended suppliers who would be delighted to show you their product range.
Q: Do we receive a complimentary room for the night of our wedding?
A: The hotel will reserve you a complimentary standard room for the night of your wedding however why not push the boat out and upgrade to a four poster suite or executive suite for a special end to a special day (Subject to availability).
Q: Do we have to have a set menu?
A: It is always difficult to cater for all of your guests needs. At Five Lakes you can choose from a set menu, buffet or barbeque array.
Q: Can we still have one of the Five Lakes wedding packages if we have fewer than 85 guests?
A: A package can be tailor made to suit the number of people you expect to have on your wedding day. Please enquire with a wedding coordinator.
